Like the legendary Odysseus, make sure that your windbag is always well filled.
br /> In seven harbors you shall establish settlements, build ships and collect sacred crystals. Sail your ships upstream to the temples of the winds to offer sacrifices. Or send your prophet on a journey across the sacred mountain to invoke Olympus and tell of your great deeds. By cleverly combining sailing cards, your ships will set out on their journey. On the way, your windbag fills up. Use it wisely and keep an eye on the other sailors - because on the islands of the winds you are constantly fighting against time.

Designed by ION's lead game designer Jon Manker, Vendel to Viking is the stand alone prequel to Pax Viking that endeavors to immerse players in the 250 year Vendel period of Nordic culture prior to the Viking era (550 to 800 CE). Each turn represents an entire generation as your family competes against others to collect the strength you need to emerge as one of the leading families during the Viking era.

Vendel to Viking and Pax Viking can be played as a campaign. The end state of Vendel to Viking will interface with the starting state of a game of Pax Viking. Because of this, Vendel to Viking contains a few new Pax Viking components. These can also be used in Pax Viking regardless of if it is played as a part of a campaign.

HOW TO PLAY

You represent a family. Each turn is one generation long and you seek to include the best formidable persons in your family as you evolve from generation to generation. You place family members on the map and use them for accessing effects in various locations, for worker actions or for elevating them into a formidable person. When elevated the family member is linked to a character card taken from a market and moved to an achievement tree. The Character goes to your family board and both the presence in the achievement tree and on the family board affects your family’s opportunities onwards.

In true ION spirit, the game mechanics are inspired by the scientific world and contain data from real experiments conducted in space. In addition, the furry characters embody actual animals that have journeyed into space. On the cover of the box, you can see Félicette, who was launched on October 18, 1963 as part of the French space program!

How to play

Your challenge: keep the great secret secret, which is to not let the humans realize that the Petsonauts are actually in charge of it all. While this charade is going on you’re trying to reach your own secret mission of finding alien supplies to smuggle back to the ship, trading your finds with fellow animals, competing to reach your goals before anyone else in the fluffy crew, and not getting caught by those pesky hoomans, of course.

In Fluffy Frontier you play as one of the space agencies, namely those that land on Halley's Comet during its next close encounter with Earth, in 2061. You have collaboratively travelled to the comet in a spaceship that is now parked in close orbit above it. You carefully plan your turns and perform certain experiments from this station, somewhat in advance so the humans don’t understand that you are doing it.
Each player’s space agency competes with the other space agencies over the discoveries found on the comet in a race to complete the most experiments. You need to fly down to the surface, collect samples, bring them back up and make experiments. And you need to act fast! The comet heats up as it comes closer to the sun and increasingly releases gas into space until it gets impossible to operate on the surface. You have 5 weeks, make the best of it.
